Out of school hours care

Before/After School Care

 

Casual and Permanent Vacancies Available

Find it difficult getting to school by 3pm to pick up your children?

Take the time to drop in and see the extensive range of activities available for your child. Every child who attends loves it and is keen to go again and again!
 
 
North Arm State School is fortunate to have such a dedicated team of ladies at Before/After School Care. We congratulate Kathy and Helen for providing such an excellent service for our community!    
 

Out of School Hours Care (OSHC)

North Arm State School After School Care Program is currently subsidised by Government Grants issued by the Commonwealth and the State. The balance of the program's expenses are payable from weekly fees due and a Yearly Enrolment fee charged o­n a per family basis
 

This Centre is a Non Profit Organisation. 

 

Aims

The organisations aim is to operate a Before/After School Care Program from 7 a.m. to 8:40 am and 3 pm to 6 pm o­n curriculum days, providing quality child care and recreation activities. (Children will be supervised in all outdoor and indoor activities at all times).

Day to day management

The carers of the children are Kathy Cockroft and Helen Robinson, with casual and Special Needs Staff as required. 
 

Hours of operation

7.00am - 8.40am and 3.00 pm - 6.00 pm (school days only)
 

Staffing

15 children: 1 staff member, usually at least 2 staff members are on site at all times. 
 

Enrolment

Ring the co-ordinator at After School Care o­n 0418 858 967 from 9.00 am to 12.00 noon. During school hours, for assistance phone 5472 9803. An enrolment form will be required to be completed and a $40 enrolment fee per family per annum is payable to the centre upon enrolment acceptance. (Confidentiality is upheld at all times)
 

Fees payable

Before School Care: 7.00 am - 8.40 am
 

Session Fee: $13.00 (less any Child Care Subsidy)  

 

After school care fees

 

3.00 pm - 6.00 pm

Permanent Session fee $19.50 (less any Child Care Assistance)

Casual Session fee $21.00 (less any Child Care Assistance)

 

Child Care Subsidy, is available to all families who meet the criteria of the Australian Department of Human Services Guidelines. It is the responsibility of each family to contact Australian Department of Human Services prior to enrolment of their child.

 

Fees must be paid weekly for regular users and o­n day of use for occasional/casual users.

 

Families requiring fee relief please make enquiries to the centre's co-ordinators. 

 

Late pick up

We ask that you notify the co-ordinator if unable to collect your child or children and advise of alternative arrangements. 
 

Late fee

A late fee of $15.00 per 15 minutes will be charged after 6.00 p.m. (This will be at the discretion of the co-ordinator). 
 

Cancellations

Families are required to give 24 hours notice of a cancelled booking or a cancellation fee will be applied. The co-ordinator needs notifications verbally or by phone  text from the parents of alternative arrangement for collection of their child/children.

Medications

Written permission is required. Please see our co-ordinator for forms. 
 

Breakfast

Breakfast is provided and includes cereal, toast, juice and fruit. 
 

Afternoon tea

Afternoon tea is provided and can be sandwiches, fruit and a variety of cooked foods.
 

Activities

Outside activities include playground, sports and games both organised and child initiated. indoor play features art and craft, board games, limited iPad and computer use as well as supervised homework time.
 

Grievance

If any parent/guardian has a grievance please notify the co-ordinator for discussion at a time suitable to both.
 

Bad behaviour

If any child is repetitively misbehaving parents will be notified and asked to come to discuss the problem with the co-ordinator. Consultation with the sub-committee and the P & C Association if necessary, may result in suspension of the child. Parents will be given notice of same.
